Perfect Japanese Style Air Fried Salmon Steak Recipe

Learn how to make perfect Japanese style air fryer salmon. This simple style of salmon is a staple of the Japanese breakfast and is one of my favorite healthy meals. The ingredients are so simple yet it is a dish that is healthy and so rich in flavor.

We will be using the roast setting on the air fryer for this recipe. Complimented with grated daikon and ponzu sauce, the salmon is cooked to perfection in the air fryer with a crispy skin and crust. It can be served with rice, miso soup, natto, and pickles.

Salmon is one of the most nutrient dense foods. It is rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids and high in protein. This 8 ounce serving of salmon contains around 50 grams of protein. It is also high in potassium which lowers blood pressure is by preventing excess water retention.

Healthy Air Fryer Salmon Ingredients

  • 8 oz Salmon steak
  • 2 pinches Salt
  • 2 oz Grated daikon
  • 1 oz Ponzu
  • 1 Lemon wedge

Prep and Air Fryer Instructions

  • Lightly salt the salmon and rest for about 5 minutes
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400f with the roast setting for a few minutes.
  • With a paper towel, lightly press on the surface of the salmon to remove the moisture.
  • Roast at 400f for 7 min. Flip the salmon and roast for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Place the salmon on a plate and serve with lemon wedge, daikon, and ponzu.
